HERMES Project: Convergence Scenarios for Digital TV: DTT / IPTV / MobileTV

PROFIT from the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade of Spain.

The project aims to develop multi-platform interactive applications: DTT, cable, satellite, mobile TV and IPTV. The project involves the companies Axion, Lambdastream, RTVE, Sogecable, tmira solutions and the Universities of Castilla-La Mancha and La Coruña.

BEACON Project

European Commission Sixth Framework Program

tmira participates in the next two years in the BEACON project along with several European and Brazilian companies and universities. The project is included in the European Commission Sixth Framework Program for the development of a t-learning channel in Brazil. It also includes a pilot in Brazil within the scope of t-learning.

The system to be implemented will be the management and broadcast system of tmira adapted to the Japanese and Brazilian standard. This will allow tmira to cover almost all digital TV market in the world, since the system will be compatible with different existing interactive TV broadcast systems.

JCCM Project

tmira has developed a system for performing secure transactions via a DTT receiver for the Consejería de Industria y Tecnología de Castilla-La Mancha. This R&D project helps us to carry out implementations of transactional services through DTT for public administration (taxes, warnings...) or to access online banking.

The second part is the use of JavaCard technology that allows identification of new users through a personal card as an electronic ID.

Collaboration University - tmira

In 2006 tmira participated in two end of studies project with ITAV (Institute of Audiovisual Technologies from UCLM) with excellent results for ITAV, tmira and the students themselves. Students have highlighted their experience of project team, contact with new technologies and relevant efforts to R&D from the University and tmira.

One of these projects: Interactive Classified Ads for DTT won First National Prize in End of Studies Projects from the College of Telecommunication Engineers.

Given the excellent results of last year, tmira will develop during 2007 two new collaborative projects.
